The AEI Team Is Ready To Work With You!
Allison Blackwood
President & CEO
Location: Torrington, CT
After twenty years of leading and developing people across the not-for-profit, hospitality and financial industries around the country, I am thrilled to be home in NW Connecticut and the second generational owner of AEI Staffing. I love this work because we can see the impact every day of getting businesses the talent they need to be successful, getting our friends and neighbors fulfilling work that improves their lives, and how the two together can elevate our community.
When not working with my amazing team, you can find me swimming, kayaking, hiking, or reading a book with my friends and family.
“The ultimate resource in economic development is people. It is people, not capital or raw materials that develop an economy.” – Peter Drucker
Cathy Latimore
HR Manager
I like my job because I feel we provide a service that helps people make their lives better. Every day I take pride in my work and do my job to the best of my ability to ensure our employees and clients receive exceptional service from us. I strive every day to treat everyone the way I would want to be treated.
“This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24
This quote speaks to me because it reminds me that every day we are given is a gift and we should be thankful for it and find our purpose for that day. I am inspired be people around me every day who persevere under hardships. They remind me that no matter what I am up against I can persevere too.
Meagan Starr
Staffing Supervisor
One of my favorite aspects of staffing is solving the puzzle: matching employees with employers by getting to know them both and finding where everyone fits best. Our whole business revolves around building working relationships based on trust and authenticity, which allows me to serve both our clients and our candidates along the way.
My favorites activities include playing piano, reading and horseback riding.
“The only one who can tell you “you can’t win” is you and you don’t have to listen.” —Jessica Ennis
Diane Porter
Staffing Coordinator
What I love most about my job is the excitement of finding the perfect candidate for the specific job I am staffing for and the gratitude of the candidate for helping them find a job they love.
Fun times for me are spending my weekends with my family, especially my granddaughter. We do special things together which I hope she will cherish forever. My passion for photography inspires me because I can capture many memories that will last a lifetime.
“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.” - Aaron Siskind
Yazmine Spencer
Admin. Assistant

What I love most about my job is the people. Not only the people I work with but the variety of candidates we see every day. Hearing about the trials and tribulations they face inspires me to not only help them find the job they need but the one they want. I believe everyone deserves the chance to chase their dreams and achieve their goals.
I am very passionate about helping people and animals. I would love to someday travel the world and help families in underdeveloped countries.
“Be focused. Be determined. Be hopeful. Be empowered. Empower yourselves with a good education, then get out there and use that education to build a country worthy of your boundless promise. Lead by example with hope, never fear.” Michelle Obama
